Children’s Lessons at Beth-El Zedeck Early Childhood Center, Saint Christopher School, and St. Richard’s Episcopal School

Beth-El Zedeck, Saint Christopher School, and St. Richard’s Episcopal School and the IUPUI Music Academy have teamed up to provide a special opportunity for your child. For one half hour per week, during Aftercare at Beth-El Zedeck, St. Christopher, and St. Richard’s Episcopal, your child can learn to play the piano, guitar/ukulele, or violin as well as develop basic music theory and musicianship skills in a high-quality, individualized private lesson. Young Explorers – The Science of Sound

Students ages 8-14 will have a chance to try some hands-on sound making, discovering the electronic means for creating, changing, and combining sounds with Department of Music and Arts Technology faculty member, Jordan Munson. Students will work with Little Bits™ synth kits developed in partnership with world-renowned electronic music maker KORG, led by Munson and IUPUI music technology students.

8th Annual Performathon

Students and faculty from the academy will perform free of charge at this event, which will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Artsgarden in downtown Indianapolis.

The annual Performathon provides the public with an opportunity to experience a musical marathon showcasing the talent of local students of all ages, as well as a wide variety of solo music from faculty of the Music Academy. Funds raised at the event will go directly to support student scholarships. Donations will be accepted onsite at the event, and interested persons also may make contributions to the IUPUI Music Academy directly.
